On 11th Febuary 2017 the UPF-NZ chapter held an event to commemorate the United Nations Interfaith Harmony week.
The event was to visit to 3 centres worship around Auckland city, and have the hosts at each venue share their vision of interfaith and how it applied to their activities.
We invited our network of Ambassadors for Peace & friends to join our touring group, this gave them an experience of Interfaith in action.
The places of worship were very diverse, Christian Presbyterian, Buddhist Soka Gakkai, and Sikh.
Like many developed countries, New Zealand has become very multicultural so the necessity of Interfaith and Intercultural understanding is very essential to promote friendship and harmony.
Our group was very warmly received at each venue. Speakers shared their faiths vision and activities and how they felt they were making a contribution to their communities.
